Below is a list of candidates who are running as a slate for Barrington Township in the April 1st, 2025 election that the Barrington Area Democratic Organization recommends based on their demonstrated values and personal advocacy.
A message from our Barrington Township Candidates:
Barrington Township provides essential services to residents, seniors, and families. We’ve served over 64,000 meals through our Food Pantry, offer transportation for seniors and residents with disabilities, and provide free services to 13,000+ residents, including notary services, tax appeals, and prescription drug take-back. Our infrastructure efforts include paving 6,400 feet of roads, securing grants for 3,200 more, improving drainage, and maintaining 31,200 feet of roadway in winter. With annual branch pickup and mosquito abatement, we deliver real value to our community.
Our 2025 candidate slate is committed to strong leadership, fiscal responsibility, and essential services. With expertise in government, law, communications, and finance, we will improve infrastructure, expand programs, and ensure transparency. Our vision prioritizes efficiency, responsible budgeting, and innovation to keep Barrington Township strong. Bob Alberding for Barrington Township Supervisor
Experienced Leadership, Strong Community Commitment
D. Robert Alberding is a dedicated public servant with over 30 years of township leadership experience. Currently serving as Township Supervisor, he has successfully implemented a Comprehensive Plan, Emergency Operations Plan, and a five-year road & bridge plan, leading to major infrastructure improvements.
Beyond administration, Robert is deeply involved in community services, overseeing programs like the Food Pantry, Emergency Assistance, and the Angel Fund. He has secured grants and fostered intergovernmental partnerships to expand services, including prescription drug take-back, recycling programs, and health screenings.
As Township CEO and Chairman, Robert ensures fiscal responsibility, operational efficiency, and service innovation. His leadership roles include:

Lisa Decatorsmith - Candidate for Barrington Township Clerk
Dedicated to Community, Committed to Service
Lisa Decatorsmith has been a Barrington resident for 23 years, raising and educating her three children—Lily, Rabi, and Esther—through the Barrington Area Public Schools. She and her husband, Jon, have been active members of the community, keeping residents healthy through her Chinese medical practice, Healing Traditions of Barrington, and bringing music and culture to the area through Jon’s record store, Scratched Vinyl.
Lisa is deeply involved in local civic engagement, serving as Secretary of the Barrington Area Democrats Board, where she works to build strong community connections. She is also an active member of the Barrington Rotary Club, further demonstrating her commitment to service.
With a diverse educational background, Lisa holds a J.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, blending her expertise in law, healthcare, and community advocacy. Her strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate effectively make her a valuable asset in any leadership role.
Mike Deering - Candidate for Barrington Township Trustee
Proven Leadership, Committed to Community
Michael Deering has been a Barrington resident for 20 years, raising three children through the Barrington 220 schools and actively engaging in the community. With a career spanning communications, public relations, and government service, he brings valuable expertise to the role of Township Trustee.
Michael has held key leadership roles, including Director of Communications & Marketing at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Deputy Director of Communications for the State of Illinois, and senior positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and Motorola, Inc. He has successfully led media relations, crisis communications, and executive messaging for both government and corporate sectors.
He has been deeply involved in community advocacy, playing a key role in opposing the Canadian National Railroad’s takeover of the EJ & E Railroad by crafting messaging and strategy for local leaders. Michael is also an active volunteer, coaching Barrington Youth Football and serving as a member of the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club.
Michael believes local government should put people first—above politics. As Township Trustee, he will bring transparency, fiscal responsibility, and a strong community focus to Barrington Township.
Vince Deligio - Candidate for Barrington Township Trustee
Barrington Native, Committed to Unincorporated Barrington Township
Vince grew up in the Barrington community graduating in 2004 from Barrington High School. He returned to the area in 2017 with his wife Megan and their four children. He has been a practicing attorney since 2011 starting his career working for the State of Illinois as an Associate Deputy General Counsel regulating Banks and other financial institutions. He currently works as in-house counsel Bill.com, a financial technology company located in California.
Since returning Vince has been active in the Barrington area coaching his kids sports teams, leading a local cub scout troop, and representing and advocating for the residents of the unincorporated area as president of the College Street Association.
John Langan - Candidate for Barrington Township Trustee
Committed to Service, Focused on Solutions
John Langan has been a dedicated resident of unincorporated Barrington Township for 13 years, bringing a lifelong commitment to community service and a strong belief in transparent, responsive, and fiscally responsible local government.
His passion for public service was shaped by his upbringing in the northwest suburbs, where his mother managed the Maine Township Food Pantry for 20 years after serving in local schools. He earned a political science degree from Western Illinois University, where he served as student government president and worked closely with local government—an experience that reinforced his dedication to effective community leadership.
With nearly 30 years of experience in talent acquisition management, John has developed expertise in resource management, budget balancing, and fact-based decision-making—skills essential for responsible governance.
John lives in the College Streets neighborhood with his wife Kelly, a senior marketing professional, and their son Braden, a freshman at Barrington High School. His pragmatic, solutions-driven approach will ensure that Barrington Township remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
Dan LeTourneau for Barrington Township Trustee
Experienced Leadership, Dedicated to Community
Dan S. LeTourneau has been a resident of Barrington since 2004, where he and his wife have raised their two children. With a career spanning nearly 30 years in public sector risk management, he has served as Director of Risk Management for one of the largest public sector risk management pools in the nation, working with over 70 local public entities in northeastern Illinois.
Dan has been deeply involved in the Barrington community, coaching youth soccer, baseball, basketball, and football for many years. He remains active through cycling, golf, and fitness training with his wife, family, and friends. His commitment to local governance includes previous service on the Village of Barrington Ethics Committee and his current role as a Barrington Township Board Member.
With his extensive experience in risk management, strategic planning, and public service, Dan brings valuable insight and leadership to Barrington Township, ensuring that services continue to meet the needs of all residents.
